HELL! NOO! ARRR! And various sounds.

It's been a topsy turvy week. I started Wednesday night all ready to post a totally PISSED OFF rant about the Senior Awards and how the same fucking girl always wins every fucking scholarships and why does she need so many scholarships anyway, her school gave her a full fucking ride...but I'm better now. Obviously -.-;;

So, onwards to spoilerificness!!

Okay, Lost finale OWNS. Seriously.

I loved the little snippets of humor among the gut-wrenching drama.  I did NOT love Jack's sick, sick, strung-out beard.  It reminded me of Leonidas (from 300) beard, but despite being resident hero, Jack does not have 300 greased-up 75% nude men "HO!"ing behind him.  STFU Jack, no beard 4 u.

Bernard and Rose are love, but Ben is the ultimate love.  I seriously LOVE this guy.  I've said it a thousand times, but he is HARDCORE.  He just never stops, until you honestly *don't* know whether he's manipulating you or not.  Remember the good old days, when everyone was morally outraged that Sayid was torturing some random (albeit bug-eyed) dude?  It is just testament to his hardcoreness that he didn't spill the beans all over the Hatch floor.

If I was being tortured by Sayid, I would have been all, "I admit it! I am Ben, King of the Island.  My main peons are a psychotic cyclops Russian and a guy who somehow finds guyliner in the middle of the jungle and oh PS he doesn't AGE, who convinced me into my very first act of total hardcoreness in which I mass murdered everyone else on the island.  I enjoy long walks on the beach, kidnapping foreign women's children and raising them as my own,  manipulating people, and invisible psychics."  But I am not hardcore like Ben, obviously.

I knew that Sayid, etc were not dead, despite the hysterics my mom was having.  And she yelled at me for feeling sorry for Ben while he was being beaten to a pulp.  For a woman who yelled at me *last* week for going "Shoot him again, Ben!", she's pretty bloodthirsty.

Hurley running over Ben's people with Drunken!Uncle Rico!Ben's Dad's van was amazingly sweet.  And though I do think he got everything he deserved, I did like Tom, so, boo him.

And Charlie.  Oooh, Charlie.  He got some pretty visceral stuff, and he proved himself just as hardcore as Ben.  I sobbed SO HARD when the thing started filling with water, and then he goes and tries to protect everyone by cleverly using his handydandy sharpie, which just made it worse.  And he crosses himself?  I was GONE.

All in all, I was thrilled with the finale, and the flashforward device was super cool (except for the suspect facial hair).  Kate looked really weird though...very airbrushed.  And as I went to bed, I couldn't help but remember all the way back to the first time I cried over Charlie's death.  A long, long time ago there was a time a rockstar got hung from a tree by a very mysterious Canadian.  And there was a girl watching the show in the den all alone, sobbing.  Flashfoward (!!!) to the same rockstar drowning, a hero.  And the same girl, sobbing once again, but surrounded by her mother, father, dog, and sobbing sister in the family room.

I LOVED At World's End.  Though the first was definitely the best, I think this one straightened out a lot of the plot-fuzziness of DMC, without losing the fantastic action and mind-blowing effects.  It was funny, the boys were SEXY, Geoffrey Rush was amazing (I really really missed him during DMC), Keith Richards dominated his scene, and Chow Yun Fat was quite possibly the neatest guest star in the history of ever.  I really enjoyed the film from start to finish, and though there was heart-wrenching along the way (I love you Norry!), it was packed with fun and swords.  I know critics aren't fond, but that's what I was looking for in a movie.  Fuck the critics, I like the movie.  There were jokes, there were fishdudes, there were thrilling sea battles, and, most important, there were pirates.  Win.
