Last night was the most INTENSE Monopoly game of my ENTIRE LIFE. FIVE HOURS. SHOUTING, SUICIDE, STRIPPERS AND TROPHY BOYS WIVES. It was awesome. A++, would play again.

Unfortunately, I was sitting half on a matress on the floor, so my lower back and tailbone are KILLING ME NOW, plus I had ballroom dance this morning, with rumba and HIP ACTION OW. But now I'm back in my room, and it's time for...more picspam! (Very Gerard-heavy)

"It's been kind of rough." Frank picks a little at the mostly-shredded cuffs of his jeans. "But, I mean, I knew I couldn't do anything. And there was Brent. And--" he can't look down at his shoes for this, he looks over at Gerard. "--and there's you. You help. Ground me, kind of, you know?"

"How--" and Gerard is uncertain, almost nervous, biting at his lip hard enough to bleed. "What do I do? That-- that helps?" Whatever it is, he wants to do it, in that instant.

"You're kind of a connection, to like, normal things. And you make me think about how someone normal would react to things." It sounds stupid to say this, and he doesn't want to put pressure on Gerard, but since he asked: "And when...you let me take control a lot, when we're together. That helps quiet it down. Like...having a snack?"

Gerard stops himself before he laughs, because he's not exactly the paragon of normal. But then he hears the rest of what Frank says and flushes, body going hot. "So," he asks, slow, because he doesn't want Frank to think he's only saying it for Frank's benefit (and doesn't want it), "My--blood thing. Would doing that help?"

"Um," god, yes, so much but he doesn't want Gerard to feel pressured, like he has to sacrifice himself to keep the monster at bay. And Gerard would totally do that, because he's a good person. Frank doesn't want to use him, but he has to answer somehow. "Maybe?"

And Frank's tone is just a little too eager for it to be a maybe. "Is that an 'I'm not sure' maybe or a 'if you don't mind, hell yes' maybe?" Gerard asks. He's spent enough time around Frank to be able to read him well enough, he's pretty sure, and unless he's totally mistaken it's definitely not a real maybe.

Even with all the tension from their conversation, Frank has to laugh a little at Gerard's question--of course Gerard sees right through him, when has he not?--and says, "It's a 'holy fuck, please, if you don't mind', actually."

"Fuck no I don't," Gerard breathes, face close to Frank's. "I want to." But then, he has to mentally step back a moment and amend, "But not yet; Brian's probably getting worried." As much as he wants to, wants to pull Frank on top of him and beg Frank to kiss him and cut him and taste his blood, they can't, not right now.

He stands up, abruptly, helping Frank up off the floor after him, and turns toward the door, shooting Frank a glance before he opens the door. "Tonight," he says, low, and turns around again.

So unfair, to drop that on him and then return to Brian. Tonight. Frank stands, though he doesn't really feel a need to go back to talk to Brian--Brian obviously dislikes him, for perfectly legitimate reasons, and it seems wiser to steer clear. But if he stays in here, he'll just stare at the bed and imagine Gerard spread across it, blood dripping down his arms and onto the sheets. He stands a little jerkily and wanders back out into the rest of the apartment, following Gerard.

Brian's in the kitchen, drinking a can of soda, and he doesn't say anything but "Hey again," but his expression clearly reads I was starting to get worried.

"I'm fine," Gerard points out, shrugging. He won't--he's okay. Relax. He's grateful that he and Brian can read each other well; they don't need to actually have the conversation, and it saves a lot of awkwardness on Frank's part.

Brian opens the fridge and leans down. "Want anything?"

Frank can hear Brian and Gerard, and he doesn't want to interrupt them or anything, so he doesn't go into the kitchen, just stays in the living room. He fusses a little when he sits down so they know he's there and he doesn't feel like he's spying on them or anything.

Gerard comes into the living room, bearing a sandwich for Frank and one for himself. Brian follows him, and they both settle on the couch. There is silence for a moment before Brian finally asks, "So what brought on the new disguise?"

Frank accepts the sandwich with a smile, grateful to have something to do with himself. He takes a bite before answering. "There was a picture in the paper. Really good one, they must have gone through our photos, or some shit. We didn't want Gee to be recognized."

"It works," Brian says, thoughtfully. "I almost didn't recognise you for a moment."

The conversation continues for a bit, mostly Brian trying to play catch-up with Gerard, and after a while they end up watching some monster movie, settled on the couch comfortably. It's definitely cheesy, but Gerard can't bring himself to care. It almost feels like he's home, and it's something he's missed.

Frank was expecting some kind of interrogation, or awkwardness, but this just really...nice. It almost feels like something normal, the kind of thing he and Gerard would do on the evenings they ended up in the apartment together. The movie isn't great, but Frank doesn't really mind when he rests his head on Gerard's shoulder, scooting a little closer. Brian obviously notices, but he doesn't say anything, just keeps his eyes trained on the pretty brunette about to be devoured.

After a while of them snuggling, about as far from subtle as they come, Brian finally asks, "Am I going to need to find earplugs for tonight?" His eyes are still on the screen, but he doesn't need to look over to know that Gerard's blushing.

"I--yeah," Gerard says, after a pause, and god it's like he's telling this to his dad.

Frank snickers into Gerard's shoulder at the embarrassed little catch in his voice, but...yeah. He definitely doesn't think Brian should have to listen to them (plus, it would ridiculously awkward if he did, and though Frank is pretty selfish, he would still feel bad, considering that Brian was giving them shelter from the elements and the law), especially with their plans for later. That would be interesting to overhear.

Gerard's not worried about what's going to happen, or that Brian's going to see the cuts on him and freak out. For once, he's almost grateful that he talked too much when he was drunk--he doesn't remember exactly when he mentioned it to Brian, but he knows he did, at least.

The movie ends and Brian yawns, standing up. It's almost eleven, and even if Frank and Gerard are used to being on bizzare schedules, he isn't. "I'm going to bed," he says, over his shoulder. "Try not to break the sound barrier."

And now, with Brian gone and the two of them just sitting by the light of the blue TV screen, Frank suddenly feels nervous. They're really going to do this, and he doesn't want to make the first move. He just kind of buries himself a little closer to Gerard and waits for him to do something, so Frank doesn't feel like some kind of pressuring creep.

Gerard looks over at Frank, body totally relaxed, and he smiles wickedly. "Want to go back up to the room?" but then he has a sudden, jarring thought.

"Wait, um. Do you need to, like, sterilize the--you know?" He gestures, miming holding a knife. He's not sure exactly what Frank has had with him, this whole time, but he suspects it still has blood on it.

Frank wrinkles his nose, envious of how calm Gerard is--he's the one who's going to be cut up, shouldn't he be the one feeling the slightest bit nervous?

"No, I--" I have plenty, and I take care of them like my own children. "It's clean. But I can, if you want me to?"

"No, it's okay," Gerard says, shrugging. "If you're sure it's clean." He wants to go up to the room already, because the anticipation is driving him insane. He's the one who wanted to come down in the first place, for Brian's sake, but now he wants to get them off the couch and into the bed as fast as possible.

"C'mon," he murmurs, taking Frank's hand as he stands up, helping him off the couch.

Frank follows willingly, still holding tight to Gerard's hand. The door firmly closed behind them, he goes for his duffel and retrieves the black canvas case that holds his knives, setting it on the cot. He's not really sure of the etiquette here: is he supposed to offer Gerard a selection? Or does the weaponry come out later?

He goes with the safest route: he straightens and pulls Gerard close, almost-kissing but not quite, just feeling him and breathing his air.

Gerard leans forward to kiss him, slow and wet. He's starting to feel twinges of nervousness; he's only done this a few times, and never when he was totally sober. He walks them back towards the bed, hand gripped tight in Frank's and the other around the back of his neck. "Do you want--" He breaks off the kiss and sits down heavily on the edge of the bed, glancing at the bag on the cot. "Um."

"I don't, I've never--" done this with someone willing. Frank looks down at Gerard--even the warm comfortable feeling after kissing is overshadowed by pure nerves--and then follows Gerard's gaze to the knives. He looks back, biting his lip a little. "Do you want me to--now, or, or should we get warmed up first? Or what? I don't know how this is supposed to work."
