Intro to Gender Studies is pretty much definitely going to be my top class of the semester. I love it, and I'm always really excited to go which happens to me like...never. We just get to talk about all the kind of stuff I want to talk about but don't really have anyone to talk about them with, and read really interesting pieces and RRGH LOVE ♥ ♥

Soooo BBBwise (damn, I need to make up a tag for this)...I was originally going to have Ray be kind of a presence in the house to kind of...drop in and explain shit to Frank that the audience needs to know about how Gerard's life is XD but I've since fallen in love with Ray as Lyn-Z's greased-up engineer/first mate (she's an airship captain~) and his starcrossed/long-distance love affair with Bob the surly mechanic cook (he's the only one willing to brave the kitchen machines Gerard loves to "improve") SO he doesn't really fit anymore. I was thinking about who I could replace him with and went OOH Matt Cortez! Except...the only thing I actually know about Cortez is that he likes porn. Any recommendations on Cortez characterizing/other people who are MCR-related and would fill the role well? (FYI, in case you hadn't heard, Gerard is the Eccentric Gentleman Inventor, Mikey is His Brother, Frank is his New Assistant, and Brian is the Butler]

I wish I'd been able to take a Gender Studies class in college. Though maybe not at my specific college as I'm pretty sure I'd have wanted to kill the Prof who taught the few gender related classes we had.

I am so excited for you BBB! And I wish I had any information about Cortez to give you. All I know is the porn thing and that according to Gerard he deserves his porn-loving because he's the "hardest working tech in the business."

I'm enjoying this (and the Queer Europe class I'm also in) so much, I'm thinking about trying to pick up a Gender Studies minor (it's only 5.5 credits!)

Yeahh...my only consolation is that most people probably aren't huge compendiums of Cortez characterization, so I can probably squeak by? I just live in fear of someone commenting like "THERE IS MORE TO MATT CORTEZ THAN PORN" and me just having to go "...there is?"

I find it really amusing reading your plans for a steampunk pirate/airship AU since I've been listening to brandixcyanide babble about her steampunk air pirates AU. I love it when people take the same basic idea and run in completely different directions. ♥

Well, mine isn't really an air pirates AU...it's more of a "boys having fun in a steampunk world, oh yeah, there are inventing duels!" AU. Lyn and Ray just drop by for a while. But that's awesome to hear, I'm constantly distressed by the lack of steampunk-inspired fic...it's just so much fun, and has a ton of potential to go a lot of different directions :)
