mwestbelle300 was AMAZING. The movie itself had lovely lovely violence (The blood!) and Persian dudes with sweet bling (Shiny!). It had a lot of parallels with LotR, and, unsurprisingly, reminded me a bit too much of Gladiator at times, but it was cool. But, as all movies must, it had a very high snark factor. I spent two hours after the film ended at McDonald's with two friends (Jello and Zackofish Maximus, as he was dubbed) having horrible giggle fits and mocking. C'mon...when a large percentage of your movie involves a mob of buff men walking around solemnly in capes and leather speedos...there's definitely a lot to laugh about. Also: I spent most of the time Xerxes was on screen going "WTF? The 8-foot tall shiny guy with girl-eyebrows is the new annoying guy on Lost??!?!" I won't even try to reproduce the mass of insensible hilarity, though I will mention that somehow, we got to talking about ordering oral sex at McDonalds. ("Do you want fries with that?") Yeah. We have problems.
On Wednesday night I got to watch a bunch of music videos, which made me happy. I don't know why, but I really really enjoy music videos. I watch Fuse, of course, since MTV shows nothing but hip-hop dreck. It was fun. May I just say: I know that, by all accounts, Jared Leto is a total asshat, and, dude, you do *not* go after Frodo, but...gosh he's purty.
Today I plan to sit around in my pajamas (as I am doing currently) until I have Night of Drama rehearsal, followed by partyage. W00t! Really hoping it's not going to be drinking party, which is a valid worry given the birthday girl's sudden swan dive into debauchery. Hold on...shit, it's her birthday...do I have to bring a present? I haven't got a present! Bugger.
Also: YES! When the phone rings, my internet inexplicably goes out for a second, and it just did, and I thought I'd lost the whole entry and would have to retype it again, but I hit back, and it was saved! YUSS!
