Snow and freezing rain prevented us from going down to my grandparentals today (we go visit them on Christmas Eve, they come see us on Christmas Day...it made more sense when we lived 10 minutes away from them but the FREEWAY WILL NOT THWART TRADITION...except that this year it did). So instead, we went to Mass this afternoon (HELL. We didn't think it would be as crowded as Christmas Day Mass, and we ended up standing outside the actual congregational space with all the people who have squalling children, AND I wore four-inch heels which I promptly kicked off. My mom was all "JENNY took her SHOES off at CHURCH, those WACKY COLLEGE SHENANIGANS, gracious me") and we'll be packing up our Traveling Christmas Carnival and bringing the 8lb prime rib roast, potatoes, beans, bread, and everything Mom is planning to cook down to Chicago. It will be an ADVENTURE.

We just watched the Muppet Christmas Carol (my absolute favorite holiday movie ♥) and I am ready to embark on the strangest Christmas Day I've known in my young life. Wish me luck, and I'm sending you all love and good cheer for the holiday season.
