Last night was the most INTENSE Monopoly game of my ENTIRE LIFE. FIVE HOURS. SHOUTING, SUICIDE, STRIPPERS AND TROPHY ~~BOYS~~ WIVES. It was awesome. A++, would play again.

Unfortunately, I was sitting half on a matress on the floor, so my lower back and tailbone are KILLING ME NOW, plus I had ballroom dance this morning, with rumba and HIP ACTION OW. But now I'm back in my room, and it's time for...more picspam! (Very Gerard-heavy)

Gerard bites his lip, hard enough to draw blood, and he's almost physically sick at the thought.

"It's different. I didn't just know him, he saved my--our lives. But I..." And he hates himself (hates himself) for what he's about to say, "I... yeah. I would." Resigned and more than a little sick at the fact that it's the truth. He can't meet Frank's eyes.

Something inside Frank breaks, and if he were a different kind of man he would cry, because he was afraid that it was just him, that Gerard wasn't feeling the same connection that he was. But he knows Gerard, knows how good his heart is, and if Gerard would still (he wants to say love, but neither of them ever offered that) be there if he was guilty, he must feel it too.

"Gee. Gee, look at me." He waits until they make eye contact, chewing on his lower lip, before he can say, "I didn't."

"I..." Gerard stares at him for a long moment, trying to make sure it's the truth, before letting out a long sigh of relief.

"Fuck, Frank. Why didn't you just tell me?" And he's not usually the one to do this but he pulls Frank over into a hug, so hard he's afraid Frank might break.

Frank clutches at the Gerard's back and buries his face in his shoulder so that his voice is muffled when he speaks. "I want you to trust me." And he does, so badly. He knows he's done nothing to deserve Gerard's trust, but he wants it desperately.

Gerard just pulls him closer, clutching Frank tight to him, and he can't even help it when he starts to laugh a little. He should know by now that Frank never does anything the easy way, always seems to have to find ways to make work for himself, and of course he'd do it here, too.

"You can never do anything the easy way, can you? God, I love you." It's said in an affectionate, friendly tone, but Gerard means it in every sense of the word.

Frank refuses to pull back to talk, he'd rather stay here and smell Gerard (who, empirically, doesn't smell very good at all, but to Frank, smells awesome), so his only reponse to Gerard's statement is a pleased-sounding murmur.

He's thinking that they can stand here forever (or for the next twenty minutes, at least) when Brian clears his throat.

"Gerard," Brian begins, and it's in his (disturbingly fatherly) 'we need to talk' voice. He's been watching the interchange cautiously, and even if Gerard now seems to trust Frank again, he doesn't.

When Gerard looks up at him, he gives Gerard a meaningful look of 'let Frank go, we need to talk', but Gerard shakes his head. "It's fine, Brian." And all Brian can do at that is sigh and put his head in his hands.

((Alrighty then))

Frank has the childish impulse to stick his tongue out at Brian. Ha ha, he likes me best. He contents himself with kissing him lightly when he pulls back and flashing Brian a smile.

Brian pinches the bridge of his nose. "Touching as this is, there's still a dead teenager in Chicago and Pete wants answers."

Gerard glances at Frank, and then back at Brian, frowning. "Has he gotten anything out of the other three yet? I don't think I ever saw them go anywhere without each other." He's hoping there's a simple solution to this, one that will placate Brian so he doesn't decide to call the police.

The problem is, he doesn't know if there's going to be one. They might even have to call in the police, which would probably be bad for all parties concerned.

"He's having a hard time tracking them down. They don't trust him anymore, seems that Ryan was the one who really liked him and the others blame him."

Frank looks over at Gerard, the concern etched in his face, and sighs. He wants to do something for Gerard, and it's obvious that this means something, even if Frank doesn't really understand. "We could go back. Lend a hand?"

Gerard hesitates for a moment. On one hand, Ryan did help them and he feels a little horrible at the thought of not helping to find his killer. On the other, he really doesn't want to get himself (or Frank, for that matter) caught.

"Do the police already know about it?" He looks at Brian and then at Frank, hoping Frank understands his worry.

Brian shakes his head. "Pete's trying to keep it quiet for a while. All four of them were tagged for vandalism, arson, petty theft, it's not like even Pete can just waltz into a police station without getting asked some serious questions." He scowls a little. "And it's not like the cops care about another dead street kid."

Frank nods and smiles at Gerard, a little too bright for the subject matter. "Your choice, Gee. Whatever you want, I'm there."

Gerard frowns a little at Brian's comment (they should care) but he nods. "We should. I don't know how much we can do, but..." He's trying to debate how much one can do without going outside too much--not much, he's guessing, but it'd make him feel better even just being there.

"I'm good at finding people," Frank offers, squeezing Gerard's shoulder in what he hopes is a soothing manner. He's not particularly worried about the safety of the boys, but if they can track down whoever did kill Ryan, he's pretty sure that would earn him a free-kill pass from Gerard, and his fingers have been itching for a knife.

((Jumpcut?))

Gerard raises an eyebrow at Frank's 'I'm good at finding people', hoping he's good at finding them rather than, say, finding them to kill them, but he keeps his mouth shut.

He nods again. "I hope so."

((Sure. Also, sorry about the giant break, I had to get some stuff from the store))

They couldn't expect a very warm reception when they finally got back to Chicago, but even hopes for "chilly" went out the door when Pete opened it.

"If you are at all responsible for Ryan," he growls, shoving an accusing finger under Frank's nose still halfway into the hallway, "I will fucking end you."

"I'm not," Frank hisses, pushing Pete's finger away and moving past him into the apartment. "I'm here to help, you dick."

Gerard nods to Pete on the way into the apartment, looking around like he's trying to regain a feel for the place. They weren't here long, maybe a month or so, but it's familiar to him still.

He turns back to Pete, who is still watching Frank like a hawk. "When was the last time you saw the other three?"

"I dunno," Pete scrubs a hand across his face. His eyes are raccooned, with smudged eyeliner on top of dark purple bags, "a week ago? Maybe two? I was trying to figure out why I hadn't been able to find them, they always just showed up when I needed them. And then they found him." His voice breaks a little bit on the last word, and even though Frank doesn't entirely understand what he's feeling, he can sympathize. Ryan was Pete's favorite, an apprentice with his own merry little band of misfits.

"Pete? Are there people?" Patrick's voice is heard from one of the other rooms and Pete swears under his breath.

"I gotta pack you away, Gerard, I'm sorry. It's been hard enough convincing Patrick that yeah, it sure is a crazy coincidence that that guy who hung out here for a while looked kinda like that whacked out killer." He gestures towards his room and calls back to Patrick, "It's our boy Frankie come home to our loving bosom." Frank can hear Patrick's combined snicker and sigh.

Gerard snorts a little at that, but nods at Pete. He gets it, for the most part, but it's a little frustrating to be creeping around all the time.

"We came to see if there was anything we could do. He..." Gerard's tone goes quiet, smiling sadly. "He helped us out a lot, it's the least we can do. If there's anything..."

"Yeah, yeah, eternal devotion, move your ass." The promise of their help seems to have perked Pete up closer to his usual self, and he waves Gerard away before wrapping his arm around Frank's shoulders and steering him back to head off Patrick.

"Hey man, how's the roadtrip?" Patrick offers a hand that Frank takes with a grin.

"Really great. Good times, you and Pete should try it out sometime."

Gerard laughs, grateful to have cheered Pete up at least a little (he looks bad, tired and sick) and goes to find Frank, which really is more like just following Pete. Whether Patrick has caught on to the fact that they aren't just similar to the people in the news or not remains to be seen, and he's not sure he wants to find out. He likes Patrick.

"So, what do we do?" It's directed a little at Pete and a little at Frank, but they're right next to each other so it really doesn't matter which it is.

"We have to find the others," Frank says, and looks for a reaction from Pete, who shrugs, drooping a little again.

"No clue. I've done everything I can think of to find them. They just...disappeared."

"We'll find them." Frank sounds confident and he glances out the window. "We should probably wait until it's dark." Pete nods.

"Yeah, that's always when I had the easiest time tracking them down."

Gerard looks out with Frank as though he's expecting to see them walking down the street. He's not, it's barely five, but it'll be dark soon enough. He's trying not to think about wandering around in the dark--he'd only admit it under torture, but he's still a tiny bit afraid of the dark. But Frank will be there, so it'll be fine.

"The sun should be going down at around eight, I think," he says, thoughtfully, trying to remember the places that the four boys usually stayed. "There was that one old abandoned warehouse they hung out in; we could try it first since it's only about a mile away."

Frank nods his agreement. "We'll leave from here later. We should make a plan." He glances over Pete's shoulder to where Patrick is on the couch. He's got his headphones in, but Frank's still wary. "Somewhere more secluded, maybe?"

"Oh shit, yeah," Pete shakes his head like coming out of a dream and jerks his thumb in the general direction of the back of the apartment. "My room should be good. I can't go out tonight, it'd be suspicious. I'll just make myself distracting." He's halfway to the couch when he turns with a little of the old Pete glint in his eyes. "Don't fuck with my shit." And he's leaping over the back and plastering himself against Patrick (who, to his credit, seems monumentally uninterested).
