Last night was the most INTENSE Monopoly game of my ENTIRE LIFE. FIVE HOURS. SHOUTING, SUICIDE, STRIPPERS AND TROPHY BOYS WIVES. It was awesome. A++, would play again.

Unfortunately, I was sitting half on a matress on the floor, so my lower back and tailbone are KILLING ME NOW, plus I had ballroom dance this morning, with rumba and HIP ACTION OW. But now I'm back in my room, and it's time for...more picspam! (Very Gerard-heavy)

It's pretty wide for a couch, and Frank's not really interested in personal space. He has a brief moment of indecision, staring down at Gerard, unsure of which way he wants to face before he realizes that it's a ridiculous question. He molds himself against Gerard, nose in his chest and a leg hooked over his knees. It's a tight fit, but Frank smiles against Gerard's chest and nuzzles a little before falling asleep.

Gerard pulls Frank tighter, yawning before dropping off to sleep, and the night passes by uneventfully.

They're woken in the morning by Pete, who explains that Patrick has to work and so he won't be around, before asking, "So? How'd it go?"

Gerard grunts indistinctly at him, still half-asleep, and prods Frank a little to wake him.

Frank makes some inventive noises, but eventually he sits up (which also takes some inventiveness, since he and Gerard are pretty well entangled).

"Good. We've got a name and place."

Pete's eyes darken. "Why aren't you there already, then?" Frank picks at a thread in his jeans before giving Pete a level look.

"We have a favor to ask, actually."

Pete frowns. "What?"

"There are these kids... they helped us find the information, and they need a place to stay. One of them is sick," Gerard explains, voice still rough from sleep. He's just praying that Pete says it's okay, and if he doesn't he has no idea what he's going to do. There's Gabe, of course, but he's pretty sure that it would be a bad idea to give the kids to him, considering some of the things they found in his basement (the chains, in particular, were troublesome).

Pete rubs his hand under his chin, squinting a little, then sighs. "Patrick's not going to be happy." He didn't just pick up Ryan and the others for fun--he honestly cares about the kids in this city, and he wants to do everything he can for them. He's not sure how he's going to juggle turning his two-bedroom apartment into a shelter for homeless kids and murderers, but he can't leave a kid out there, especially not if they're helping find Ryan's killer.

Frank nods briskly, his unspoken demands met. "We'll go pick them up, and then we'll try to track down the guy." He doesn't want to mention any names, give Pete any ideas about trying to get revenge himself. This sort of thing is best left to professionals.

Pete nods, and he's just going to have to figure out how to make it work because it's clear that Frank is already decided on the issue of bringing the kids. He needs to figure out where he's going to keep them, though--in his room is a little skeevy, even for him, but he doesn't want them to get in Patrick's way, either.

"You'd better find him," he says, and he's dying to know who it is that they're looking for, but Frank knows what he's doing. Even if he would probably kill whoever it was himself, given the chance. He'd gotten to the point of considering Ryan like family when Ryan was killed.

Gerard sits up, stretching, and tries not to flush as Pete sees what he's wearing properly. He's hoping that Pete doesn't ask any questions, but he knows he probably will.

Frank lets out a little huffing sigh (reminiscent of a small dog) and rolls his shoulders. Sleeping on couches made him stiff, and sharing a couch wasn't the best route to stretched muscles (even though he would trade a king-sized bed all to himself for a night on the couch with Gerard anytime).

Pete's eyes widened near comically when he gets a better look at Gerard because, um, hello. "Um, hello." He gives Gerard a grin that's at least seventy-five percent leer. "Aren't we the sexy lady?"

Gerard sighs, putting his head in his hands, and it's pretty clear that he does not want to talk about the matter. He's going to have to go out in disguise again, of course, so there's no real point in changing back, but...

"Pete..." he says, tone warning. It is too early for this, and he hasn't had any coffee. Speaking of.

"Do you have any coffee?"

He waves his hand in the general direction of the kitchen, then grins again. "I always have coffee for pretty girls."

Frank thinks it would be bad manners to punch the guy who is letting you stay in his apartment, letting you bring random homeless people to his apartment, and not telling the police where you are so he doesn't. But he wants to. If Pete gets Gerard embarassed and he doesn't want to do this again, Frank will find a way to express his displeasure. For the moment, he wanders into the kitchen and finds the pot barely touched. He pours a mug for Gerard and himself and brings them back to the living room, sitting back down on the couch.

Gerard is somewhere between annoyed as hell and kind of amused, so he doesn't say anything and instead contents himself with drinking his coffee. He's practically cradling it like a baby when he takes it away from his mouth.

"Thanks," he tells Frank after a pause, because his mind is a little one-track right now (that one track being "mmm, coffee") and it's difficult to remember such insignificant things as manners.

Frank nods in response, too busy with his own coffee to speak. Once the mug is empty, he stretches a little again. "We should probably try to get to Ryland and the others now, so we have time later for--" he almost says 'hunting,' stops himself just in time. But he can't think of another term to use, so he just trails off, the unfinished sentence lingering heavy and awkward in the air.

"Looking for him?" Gerard finishes, and he has a feeling Frank was going to use another term, one he really doesn't want to think about the implications of. He hasn't really considered what they're going to do once they actually find Brent and for now he thinks he might not want to.

"Think we should now? It's light out," He's a little hesitant at the thought, because it's one thing to go out during the night but during the day it might not be safe even in disguise.

"I could go," Frank offers. He knows that it's safer to wait, but he wants as much time as possible with this Brent character--it's been way too long, and he doesn't want to bother with some rush job. He wants to be able to go slow and smooth, just how he likes it--and that means getting his good samaritan deal out of the way first.

Gerard thinks about it and then frowns. "No," he says finally. "I should go with you. They trust me more and they might not come if it's just you. I'll just have to make sure I look different enough."

He's mostly sure he's accurate with that observation, considering the way that Ryland and Alex seem more hesitant, more suspicious around Frank. It doesn't seem to be too much of a jump to assume that they've got good instincts and have some idea of what he is.

Frank would be a little offended that Gerard doesn't think he can charm a couple scruffy kids into going with him (it was kind of what he did. Not kids, but they should be easier to convince, right?) but he knows it would be easier with Gerard. People just trust him, and really, they should.

"How many of these precious ragamuffins are there?" Pete asks, because, much as he'd like to, he can't exactly shove six kids in here and ask Patrick to ignore them.

"Three," Gerard says simply, lifting the mug to his lips to drink the last of his coffee. He's still tired, and it can't be even ten in the morning yet, and he is so not equipped for this kind of thing. He's going to have to go out disguised even more this time, and for that he's probably going to need Pete's help.

"What makeup do you have other than eyeliner?" he asks, hoping Pete has something else. In daylight he can't pass for a girl in just that.

"Um." Pete flicks through his memories, back to his last girlfriend (who didn't like the wide-eyed worship Pete invariably got from the thin, pretty boys he spent most of his time with). She had stormed out in enough of a rush that he figures she probably left her make-up kit in the bathroom. Patrick probably shoved it under the sink so he wouldn't have to look at it (Patrick's thoughtful like that.) "I think I have some, check under the sink?"

"Okay," Gerard says, setting his mug down on the counter in the kitchen before trudging off to the bathroom. He's still tired and the caffeine from the coffee hasn't really kicked in yet. He yawns as he goes.

After a while of fumbling around under the sink (and why the hell is there a pair of pants under there? He's not sure he wants to know.) he finds a small zipped-up case that turns out to be pretty much exactly what he's looking for.

"Thanks," he calls.

"No problem," Pete calls back. He turns to look at Frank, eyes serious again. Frank's cupping the still warm mug in his hands, and he doesn't look up before speaking.

"If you're going to give me a talk about keeping him safe, don't bother." I've heard it all before, and it won't help.

"No, I know." Pete says, but he doesn't sound like he believes it. He'd feel better if he at least knew what--who they were going to be hunting down. For the moment, though, he knows he has to concentrate on figuring out where he can fit three more people in his house.

And Gerard is still in the bathroom, carefully applying makeup, trying to accentuate the girlier features of his face. He's not going to think about what will happen if what they're going to do doesn't work.

Frank gets up to put the empty mugs back in the kitchen--he can at least play the role of polite guest, if he's going to be dumping more people into Pete's space with barely any warning and little hope for any payment for services rendered--and doesn't really want to go back to Pete and his looks, so he wanders back to the bathroom to check in on Gerard's progress.

"How's the beautifying going?"

"Pretty well," Gerard responds without looking over, leaning toward the mirror, mouth open as he applies his eyeliner. He's wearing lipstick and improbably enough, it's subtle enough that it doesn't look rediculous on him.

God, Frank thought that Gerard in a skirt was going to be his new favorite mental image, but now he's just getting more and more to add. It's like fetish Christmas.

There's something undeniably graceful about the way Gerard moves as he applies it, like sketching across his face, and Frank might like to watch this for maybe forever. But they have work to do, (possible) murderers to track down, and when Gerard is finished, it's time to go.

Gerard puts the eyeliner down and turns to Frank. "I think this will work," he says, hopefully, shooting a last glance at himself in the mirror. He grins a little at his reflection. Fuck, he should do this more often.

He straightens his skirt and walks out, hoping Pete doesn't see him before they leave. "C'mon," he murmurs to Frank, a little urgently.
