Last night was the most INTENSE Monopoly game of my ENTIRE LIFE. FIVE HOURS. SHOUTING, SUICIDE, STRIPPERS AND TROPHY BOYS WIVES. It was awesome. A++, would play again.

Unfortunately, I was sitting half on a matress on the floor, so my lower back and tailbone are KILLING ME NOW, plus I had ballroom dance this morning, with rumba and HIP ACTION OW. But now I'm back in my room, and it's time for...more picspam! (Very Gerard-heavy)

Frank follows. Patrick and Pete are both asleep on the couch. As soon as he gets out into the hallway, he has to push his glasses up again. He's suddenly really thankful that he doesn't wear them every day.

He closes the door behind them as softly as he can.

Gerard shivers as he steps out into the cold air, because even if he is in a coat, his legs are exposed. He can see his breath in white puffs in front of him and he suddenly desperately needs a cigarette. He's trying to remember the way to the warehouse that he mentioned as he fumbles through the pockets of his coat looking for one, and he breathes a sigh of relief as he pulls out his pack and a lighter.

"Want one?" he asks Frank, holding the pack out.

"Thanks." Frank reaches out to take one, misses. He growls--stupid glasses messing with his depth perception--and succeeds on the second try.

He looks down the road while Gerard lights both cigarettes, eyeing passersby on the other side of the street suspiciously. "We should loop around. If we go straight there, it'll be too easy for someone to trace us."

Gerard takes a long drag, breathing out a cloud of smoke with a pleased noise. "I hope you know your way around here better than I do, then," he comments, trying to sound nonchalant. "Which way?"

Frank mirrors him, inhaling and savoring.

"I'll figure it out." He looks both ways down the street, then nods his head toward the south. When they start walking, he slides his arm around Gerard's waist to rest possessively on his hip in what he considers a very smooth maneuver.

Gerard snorts. "So we're going for 'night on the town with my girlfriend'?" He doesn't really mind, and it's kind of a nice thought, actually. He takes another drag of his cigarette and looks around,trying to re-familiarize himself with the territory.

Frank smiles and squeezes a little bit. "Well, if the cops are looking for a guy and a hostage, they aren't going to make a connection when all they saw was some guy out with a hot chick." He frowns, trying to remember the almost labyrinthine alleyways and shortcuts the streetkids always seemed to be slipping through. Peering down an alley--grocery store on one side, used bookstore on the other--he says, "I think we need to take this one."

Gerard looks down the alley and his face immediately lights up. "Yeah, this is it." He's always thought in terms of pictures, and this one is clear in his head--awkwardly sketched graffiti on one of the walls, too angular, a dumpster about halfway down the alleyway, too far to be of any real purpose. He knows absolutely that he's been here, and he's pretty sure he remembers the boys being with them at the time.

They move down the alley; Frank's careful not to brush against the wall, it looks pretty nasty (it is an alley). The other side looks even more familiar, and they cut down two more claustrophobic streets before reaching the old warehouses.

Frank thumbs at his glasses, more as something to do than out of any real necessity. "Guess we just, dive in?"

"Sure. Want to stick together or split up?" Gerard scans the outside, trying to figure out if it would be more likely for them to be inside the warehouses or outside them. He's betting they're inside, all hiding in some tiny place like a pile of abandoned kittens, but there are a good dozen of the warehouses, all in a line, and it's going to take a while to go through all of them. He suddenly wishes they had a flashlight.

Frank scowls at the big empty buildings. They make him uneasy--too much room for hiding which, yeah, is why streetkids like it, but it's not good for finding or for staying safe; there could be any number of drugged out whackjobs lurking in the shadows--then looks back at Gerard. Unarmed and untrained Gerard who probably wouldn't even do too well at running in that skirt. "You're not wandering around here alone."

"I..." Gerard begins a protest but then stops himself when he considers the thought of walking around in an empty warehouse by himself in the dark. In a skirt, no less--and he has had to run in one before and it's not an experience he's keen on repeating. "Alright, fine."

He motions to the one furthest to the left (number fifteen); they have to start somewhere, and he thinks he remembers the kids being in there sometimes. "Let's try there."

Frank's glad that Gerard doesn't try to argue with him--he wouldn't be changing his mind, and he'd really like to have at least a week of the fun freshness of their relationship (can he call it that? He's pretty sure Gerard doesn't dress up in drag with anyone.) before he has to whip out the overly protective, possessive, and viciously jealous cards. He's hoping Gerard won't give him much reason for the last, but the first two are definitely going to come up and soon.

He walks up to the looming brick wall and peers around. There's a huge metal door--no way in hell he and Gerard are moving that--but there has to be another way to get in.

"Let's try around back," Gerard suggests, frowning. He doesn't think the boys could open it even if it was the three of them, so either there's another way in or they can't be in there. Logically speaking, anyway--he wouldn't put it past them to be able to pull off something wildly implausible, because if anyone could, it'd be them.

Frank nods and sure enough, there's another, smaller metal door in the back, hanging ajar, half-rusted off it's hinges. It only takes a firm push and it scrapes against the ground, shaking more rust onto the small pile next to it.

It's cool and dark inside, empty and eerie. The open door implies that someone has been living here, but if it's the boys their looking for, who knows? Frank reaches into his pocket to wrap his hand around his switchblade, thumb sliding along the smooth side to keep him calm.

Gerard toes in as quietly as he can--even if he knows that if anyone's in here they've probably heard the sound of the door. There's nothing in it except a few rows of crates, near the middle, and he's heading to look behind the first one without so much as looking to see if Frank's following him. He has one hand over his mouth to muffle his breathing, and he's walking awkwardly with the intent to make as little noise as possible.

Each exhale seems to echo through the emptiness and Frank does his best to breathe in soft hisses through his teeth. His hand tightens on the knife--he feels safer, more controlled with a weapon in his hand--though he hopes he won't have to pull it. It'll be a bitch to explain to Gerard, and he isn't really interested in killing in self-defense. He has more refined tastes than that. The soles of his shoes persist in slapping against the cement, no matter how lightly or slowly he tries to step.

((Maybe they could meet some other folk...AlexandRyland maybe? who can take them to the Panic boys. I gotta get to bed, so...surprise me ^_^ ♥ ))

As Gerard is about to turn the corner to see behind the first stack of crates, there is an unmistakable sound of someone sniffling. He freezes and he can hear two frantic but quiet 'Ssh!'s. The sounds come from, as far as he can tell, behind the second row of crates. Peering down the row, he can see three distinct shapes--they're three other boys; the one in the middle is too small to be anyone they're looking for. The other two are huddled around him protectively, and he's shivering, clearly sick.

Gerard takes a deep breath and says, "Who are you? We're not going to hurt you." The tallest one looks up, arms still wrapped around the tiny boy in the middle. His eyes are scared but defiant. "How do we know you're telling the truth?"

"Please," Gerard says quietly. "We're looking for three other boys--Brendon, Jon, and Spencer. Do you know them?"

At that, the boy on the right unfreezes a little. "Yeah, we do. I'm Alex, he's Ryland, and," he breaks off as the boy in the middle starts coughing, clutching him tighter, "this is Nate. I haven't seen them in a day or two, though."

Frank steps forward, though remains slightly behind Gerard--Gerard has, unsurprisingly, always had better luck gaining trust than Frank ever did. The kids already seem to be opening at least a little to him (and are entirely unphased by his outfit) and Frank doesn't want to jeapordize it with what was once described to him as his "frantic aura."

"Do you remember where you last saw them?" Ask the questions, get the answers, and get out. The longer they hang around here, the more attached Gerard is liable to get. Frank knows him--he gets broken up over sad-looking kittens in pet stores; what would he do with a real live sick boy?

The kid--Alex--looks warily at Frank, because he's had to develop pretty good instincts to survive this long, and there's something about Frank that just feels off. But the sooner he answers the questions, the sooner they can be left in peace. He's worried sick (sick, ha!) about Nate but he really, really isn't interested in getting outsiders involved.

"I think..." He hesitates, trying to remember. "I know they said they were gonna disappear for a while but they said they weren't going that far. I know they're not in any of the warehouses. Um. There's this old factory around here, you know, maybe..."

"Which way?" Ryland, the tallest of them, waves a long arm in towards the left, where Frank remembers two more warehouse--the factory must be past them.

Nate hacks again, and Alex tightens his arm around him again. Frank looks between the trio and the look on Gerard's face, and sighs. "Thanks for the tip. You guys need anything, for him?" The kid really doesn't look so good, and though Frank honestly doesn't care, he can at least pretend.

Ryland has a moment of vulnerability where he's ready to yell, "Yes, damn it, we need to get him some medicine or just... something!" but he pushes it away as best as he can. He doesn't want to accept help from them, and maybe that's childish, but he really can't bring himself to care.

"It's not like you would have anything," he points out, shrugging, wrapping himself around Nate a little tighter like a human blanket.

Frank resists rolling his eyes. "Not on me, no. But you helped us, and we could do you a favor." God, he hopes that he's earning some brownie points with Gerard for this, or maybe making up some karma (though he has no illusions that helping a sick streetkid is going to wipe his slate).

Ryland's still scowling, but Alex starts to look a little hesitant, considering.

Alex is never going to hear the end of it from Ryland if something goes wrong, but he's desperate at this point. He's afraid if Nate gets any sicker he'll die and he doesn't even want to think about that.

"Please," he manages, voice low. His tone is nothing if not humiliated but at this point he's stopped caring.

Gerard gives Frank a look, obviously doubting his intentions (which, yeah) and his ability to really help. Don't jerk these kids around.

"What do you need? I have some cash--" because that's a great idea, giving cash to homeless kids, but even if he doesn't feel quite like everyone else does, he can still see that Alex and Ryland are devoted to Nate. Everything they have is going to go into protecting him "--and I might have a place you could stay. Warmer than this."
