Last night was the most INTENSE Monopoly game of my ENTIRE LIFE. FIVE HOURS. SHOUTING, SUICIDE, STRIPPERS AND TROPHY BOYS WIVES. It was awesome. A++, would play again.

Unfortunately, I was sitting half on a matress on the floor, so my lower back and tailbone are KILLING ME NOW, plus I had ballroom dance this morning, with rumba and HIP ACTION OW. But now I'm back in my room, and it's time for...more picspam! (Very Gerard-heavy)

Frank wakes up restless and wanting to discover that he dug his nails into his own arm at some point in his sleep. The scratchmarks hurt a little, but he's thankful that it's his arm and not Gerard's. He glances over, trying not to move too much, but finds Gerard with his eyes already open and nudges him with his knee. "Hey."

((You can kill Ryan :) I like him, but he does seem like an obvious choice. How're we finding out? Did Pete call Brian to cry?))

"Hey," Gerard answers, voice a little distant. He's relieved that Frank is finally awake, because he's been staring at the ceiling with no one to talk to for two and a half hours (for whatever reason, he kept track). He's about to say something else when Brian knocks on the door.

There's no lock; Brian opens the door, coughing meaningfully when he sees Gerard and Frank with limbs entwined.

"Gerard, I need to talk to you about something. Alone." He shoots a look at Frank that's surprisingly venomous, and Gerard feels a sudden inexplicable chill.

((My thought is, that Pete called Brian to see if he knew about FrankandGerard's whereabouts at the time of Ryan's murder, aka had they been at Brian's/other place Brian knew about. So he's basically seeing if Frank did it. Unless you want to run with something else.))

Frank scowls when Gerard has to shuffle around for his clothes, flushed. He and Brian disappear out the door, and for a few moments Frank lies still in the bed, thinking about whether he can allow them a brief moment. He wants to be able to do that, since Gerard has obviously developed more trust in him (enough trust to sleep in his arms an hour after he considered strangling him), but Brian, Brian is an unknown. He can't trust him (and he shouldn't trust Gerard, certainly not as much as he does) so he pulls himself out of bed and slips into his jeans while walking to the door.

He misses the start of the conversation, but he hears Gerard's gasp.

"Pete called me," Brian begins, and he's playing with his hands awkwardly, wringing them together the way he does when there's something he doesn't want to talk about.

"Okay," Gerard says, half a question.

"You remember the boys that stayed with him?" Gerard nodded. "One of them--Ryan? They found him this morning, stabbed to death." Brian gave him a hard look. "They don't know anything for sure but it looks like he'd been dead a while."

Something clicked in Gerard's mind and he gasped, feeling like he'd had the wind knocked out of him. "You think Frank..."

"It's definitely possible. Pete apparently thought so too, or he wouldn't have called me."

Gerard felt abruptly sick.

Frank tenses. They can't believe that. Well, Brian can believe that, Brian hasn't been here. But Gerard. Gerard would never believe that Frank would kill someone that helped them, a kid no less. He thought that when he saved Gerard from an investigation that probably would have led him to death row, he had more than proved that he watched out for those close to him.

He pulls the door open. "Gerard." Gerard looks at him, and also looks like he might throw up.

When Frank comes in, Gerard thinks he's going to be sick. He doesn't want to believe what Brian's saying, but Frank's already tried to kill him (twice) and if him, why not Ryan?

All he can manage is a weak "Why?"

Frank stares, disbelieving. He looks over at Brian--no good, of course, Brian's glaring at him like he heartlessly murdered a teenage boy who helped him and Gerard stay out of sight.

It hurts. It fucking kills, pun not intended, because Gerard is his best friend and he thought they were even more than that now, and Gerard doesn't believe him, doesn't even give it a moment's thought before condemning him.

So he folds his arms and he sneers. "Why not?"

((It's understandable...IT'S LAET. And I have MCR Macros in one tab and Sweeney Todd macros in the other and I keep having to stifle my lolling because roomie is sleeping shhh))

Gerard jerks like he's been slapped and his face goes from sick to downright horrified.

"Why not?! He helped us you..." He cuts himself off, afraid of getting Frank angry, now that he knows (knows?) Frank's actually killed someone while they were on the run.

"Frank," Gerard says pleadingly, tone begging Frank to say he didn't or at least to explain why he did if he did. His eyes are huge and wide and he looks almost like a scared child watching for monsters in the closet.

Frank wants to look away, because the pure terror in Gerard's eyes makes his chest ache, but he forces himself to stare--eyes dead as he can make them. He can't deny that the pleading yanks at his insides, but he's not going to scrape and beg for forgiveness for something he didn't do, after all these months he's not going to fucking prove himself.

"Gerard," he mimics, and he knows he's being purely cruel but he's hurt and he's going to lash out. "Don't act so surprised." He glances over a Brian who doesn't look surprised at all, before focusing his attention back to Gerard. "It's kind of what I do."

Gerard makes a choked sound, biting his lip hard enough to draw blood. "I... fuck." He shakes his head wildly, as though doing that will make everything stop.

"I thought you hadn't... since we left the apartment." Gerard still can't bring himself to say 'killed anyone and some nasty part of his mind pipes up about denial being unhealthy. He shakes his head again. "I trusted you." And he knows it was stupid to do that, but fuck, he couldn't help it.

"Yeah, well," Frank shrugs, and god, it tears him up inside that it only took one vague suggestion and Gerard turns on him. He should know by now that sex doesn't have to mean anything and blowjobs aren't eternal devotion, but he thought that he and Gerard were building something. Obviously Gerard doesn't feel the same way, since he hasn't for a instant considered that Frank may not be guilty. "People don't follow me behind abandoned warehouses because I don't seem trustworthy, you know."

"Frank, stop," Gerard says desperately. He wants to curl up in a little ball and never come out again and he wants Frank to be innocent (well, relatively speaking--innocent of this) and things to go back to normal.
"Just... did you?" He looks strangely hopeful, and maybe it's stupid, but all Frank would have to say is that he didn't and Gerard would believe him.

Frank ducks his head, because as angry as he is, he won't lie to Gerard. He just won't. But he's not going to fight for his innocence--he knows that, traditionally, serial murderers don't get the benefit of the doubt, but Gerard should know him.

"Why do you even care?" He sneers a little again, trying to distract from his evasion. "It's not like you liked him, or even really knew him. He's just some kid, Gerard, what's the big deal?"

Gerard frowns. "So did you or didn't you?" Frank hasn't answered his question--and it's a simple yes or no question so unless Frank doesn't know (which Gerard doubts very, very much), he should have an answer.

Frank struggles to find something else to say, but he just deflates a little, hugging his arms closer to his chest and curling in a little. "You should know."

Brian has been watching the exchange warily, trying to decide whether he should quietly slip backwards and call the cops. He's decided against it--Frank would notice, and he's clearly on the edge and possibly having some kind of psychotic break and there's no way Brian's endangering Gerard. He knows Gerard's having a hard time with this--he always seemed to expect people to act the same way he would, and was horribly confused when they let him down, and more than that, it wouldn't take a lot of imagination to guess what happened last night (even less if you happened to be, say, trying to sleep in the next room). He just has to figure out a way to get Gerard and himself away and safe and then someone can deal with the tiny psycho.

Gerard gives him a look of frustration. "But I don't know. You're my," and he swallows hard, "my best friend, but you're a serial killer. I want to think you didn't, but you could have." He sounds desperate, trying to will Frank to give him the answer he wants.

"But you're supposed to!" Frank explodes, arms jerking out from his body to gesture expansively. "After all...after everything, you're supposed to know!" He huffs, and is surprised to find his cheeks flushed and his eyes painfully dry. He squeezes them shut tight and his voice drops out a little when he says, "I thought you got me."

Gerard stops dead at this, looking at Frank carefully. "I..." he begins, and then stops, not sure what to say.

"You don't want me to think you could have? But," and it's hard to say the next words, so hard it's almost a physical pain, "Frank, you... you tried to kill me. You wanted to kill that girl at Gabe's. I want to be able to say you didn't and be sure but I can't be."

He has a perfectly good point, makes sense, but Frank doesn't to listen. He's angry and he's hurt, and he doesn't want to hear that he's the one in the wrong here.

"What if I say I did?" He opens his eyes, stares at Gerard, watching for the slightest flinch in his expression. "Would you still want me? It was okay until it was someone you knew?"

"It's different. I didn't just know him, he saved my--our lives. But I..." And he hates himself (hates himself) for what he's about to say, "I... yeah. I would." Resigned and more than a little sick at the fact that it's the truth. He can't meet Frank's eyes.

Something inside Frank breaks, and if he were a different kind of man he would cry, because he was afraid that it was just him, that Gerard wasn't feeling the same connection that he was. But he knows Gerard, knows how good his heart is, and if Gerard would still (he wants to say love, but neither of them ever offered that) be there if he was guilty, he must feel it too.

"Gee. Gee, look at me." He waits until they make eye contact, chewing on his lower lip, before he can say, "I didn't."

"I..." Gerard stares at him for a long moment, trying to make sure it's the truth, before letting out a long sigh of relief.

"Fuck, Frank. Why didn't you just tell me?" And he's not usually the one to do this but he pulls Frank over into a hug, so hard he's afraid Frank might break.

Frank clutches at the Gerard's back and buries his face in his shoulder so that his voice is muffled when he speaks. "I want you to trust me." And he does, so badly. He knows he's done nothing to deserve Gerard's trust, but he wants it desperately.

Gerard just pulls him closer, clutching Frank tight to him, and he can't even help it when he starts to laugh a little. He should know by now that Frank never does anything the easy way, always seems to have to find ways to make work for himself, and of course he'd do it here, too.

"You can never do anything the easy way, can you? God, I love you." It's said in an affectionate, friendly tone, but Gerard means it in every sense of the word.

Frank refuses to pull back to talk, he'd rather stay here and smell Gerard (who, empirically, doesn't smell very good at all, but to Frank, smells awesome), so his only reponse to Gerard's statement is a pleased-sounding murmur.

He's thinking that they can stand here forever (or for the next twenty minutes, at least) when Brian clears his throat.
